Iasi opens the 31st center of RoRec National Collection Network

Iași, October 28, 2015 – Iaşi joins the National Collection Network, a project of RoRec Association in partnership with local authorities nationwide to create an infrastructure for collecting WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) accessible to a greater number of citizens. Thus, the Municipality of Iaşi, SC Salubris SA and RoRec Association launch Friday, October 30, an electrical waste collection center in Iasi.

The collection center that will be inaugurated on Friday, October 30, 2015, starting at 10.00, will be the 31st location of RoRec National Collection Network. It is located in Iasi, no 3, Pompei Street and represents a new permanent solution for people from Iasi who want to discard electrical waste correctly, respecting their community, the legislation and the environment.

People from Iasi will have the opportunity to celebrate the launch of this new service on the evening of October 30, 2015, starting at 19.00, on the Esplanade of Palace of Culture, with the concert “Recycling Rocks!” of Cargo and Domino.

Also, the Romanian Recycling Association RoRec invites citizens of Iasi to take part in the first WEEE collection action, organized by the new collection center. It will take place from 2 to 6 November 2015. Consumers from Iasi may also dispose of their e-waste at one of the temporary drop-off collection points in Iasi. Heavy or bulky waste will be taken for free from home, institution or company office through telephone orders at RoRec Green Line 0800 444 800, a toll free number.

Those who will dispose of electrical waste in the collection action have the chance to win one of the 22 prizes offered by Candy and Philips: a refrigerator, 5 microwaves, 8 coffee makers and 8 mixers. The draw will take place at the SC Salubris SA Headquarters (43 National Rd.) on Monday, November 9, at 12:00.
