On April 20th, in Sinaia, RoRec Association, in partnership with Sinaia Town Hall, launched a new WEEE Collection Center as part of RoRec National Collection Network – a WEE separate collection service offered to the community at European standards.
Thus, starting from April 20th, the inhabitants in Sinaia and neighboring areas have the possibility to dispose of their old or broken household appliances by bringing them directly to the collection center or by requesting free home pick up service (at the phone number 0751 302 116), in the case of large equipments. Sinaia Collection Center offers its services both to the population and to the companies who would like to send their old electrical equipments to recycling.
„We continue building up a coherent infrastructure consistent with environmental norms and accessible to the public, with the purpose of increasing the collection quota that is completely unsatisfying at the moment – under 1 kg per capita/year, as well as improving public awareness to protect the environment and natural resources. Besides the hundreds of collection operations organized during the last two years, we are present in retail networks, gas stations, companies and schools, with more than 2,000 collection points for small domestic appliances, batteries, and lamps. And these days, a new location at European standards has added to the range of centres launched last year, enlarging RoRec National Collection Network. And we won’t stop here.”, stated Liviu Popeneciu, President of the Romanian Association for Recycling RoRec.
During the next two months, other WEEE collection centers will be opened, as part of the RoRec National Collection Network, providing thus a permanent solution for the disposal of old electrical appliances to an increasingly large number of citizens.
