Starting April 2013, other two cities in Romania adopted the local collection service, launched for the first time by RoRec Association in November 2012. We are talking about Sibiu and Bârlad municipalities, where the citizens who hold waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), can responsibly dispose of it by requesting this local free pick up from home service.
Citizens, public institutions and economic operators are invited to call up the phone numbers corresponding to each city to schedule a free transportation. Thus, for Sibiu, the phone numbers are: 0800 444 800, free call between 09.00-17.00, from Monday to Saturday; and 0744 500 006, available between 09.00-16.00, from Monday to Saturday. For Bârlad, the orders can be made by calling 0731.263.598 and 0800 444 800, from Monday to Saturday, between 09.00-17.00.
Actual WEEE collection from home or companies’ headquarters is made based on the orders registered by the call center, in an organized manner, every month, that is on the last Saturday of every month. Thus, on Saturday, April 27 2013, in Sibiu and Bârlad the first WEEE collection actions of the local service will be carried out. The e-waste will be taken over between 10.00-16.00 in Sibiu and 09.00-16.00 in Bârlad.
