Bistrita-Nasaud, Calarasi, Hunedoara, Prahova, Teleorman, Tulcea and Timis are the participating counties in the 2011-2012 edition of the Recycling Patrol educational program. The townhalls and the County School Inspectorates have also joined us in this venture whereby over 20,000 children will participate in education events for the correct collection of waste electric and electronic equipment. Through the program, the organizers provide a convenient and simple educational system to the participants and aim at promoting the habit of collecting this type of waste selectively in the pre-school and school education institutions.
An impressive number of institutions supported our initiative and joined the program throughout the entire registration period that ended on December 20th. After centralizing the registrations, the educational environment program will be implemented in over 400 locations from the seven counties participating in the 2011-2012 edition of the Recycling Patrol.
The next stage of the program will take place between January 15th and 30th 2012, when every enrolled institution will receive the program’s support materials, as well as collection kits – three containers installed for the three categories of waste to be collected under the program: light bulbs, neon lamps and lamps, small electric and electronic appliances and batteries. Also, in order to better understand the importance of collecting and recycling WEEE, as well as the hazard it represents for the environment, every participant to the program will receive a leaflet specially designed for the three age groups – kindergarten, school and high-school.
The organizers, supported by manufacturers Indesit and Philips, will reward the performance at this edition as well, offering prizes to education institutions and coordinating teachers that collected the largest WEEE quantity/member of the Recycling Patrol, as well as other prizes, presented both nationally and locally, in every institution that joined the program.
Bistrita-Nasaud, Calarasi, Hunedoara, Prahova, Teleorman, Tulcea and Timis are the counties where the RoRec Association, as initiator of the Recycling Patrol program, with support from partners Indesit and Philips, will carry out the Recycling Patrol program. The project is aimed at helping students understand some of the causes for environmental pollution and become aware that mitigating them is up to everyone of us.
The 2011-2012 edition of the Recycling Patrol project will be carried out in pre-school and pre-university education institutions from the participating towns between November 25th 2011 and June 15th 2012.
The program supports the joint efforts of the Association, local authorities and RoRec members to create a coherent WEEE collection infrastructure to help meet the quantitative targets set by the European norms, namely 4 kg of WEEE collected per capita, per year.
Details about the Recycling Patrol program and the registration methodology are available on the dedicated page from the RoRec Association website, as well as on the Facebook page. The project’s media partner is Agerpress, the National Press Agency.
