Thursday, October 27th, at the Elisabeth Palace, Her Royal Highness Princess Maria of Romania first met with teachers who have participated in all editions and contributed to the success of the Recycling Patrol over the first five years of its launch.

Since October 2015, the national program of environmental education Recycling Patrol is held under the High Patronage of HRH Princess Maria.

The first edition of the program was launched in 2011, in seven counties: Bistrita-Nasaud, Calarasi, Hunedoara, Prahova, Teleorman, Tulcea and Timis. 14 of the teachers who have registered for the first edition, returned to the program year after year with their school teams, to promote separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment in their communities.

HRH handed trophies to the teachers, talked to them about volunteering, how the young embrace this idea, and what their plans are for the edition that has just begun.

“It was an emotional meeting, memorable” “We have experienced an uplifting moment,” said teachers invited to the end of the event.

Recycling Patrol started the sixth edition. Both senior program coordinator teachers and those participating for the first time will try with their students and support of their communities to send to recycling more than 1 million kg of e-waste in Romania, until August 31, 2017.
