County of Hunedoara launched two RoRec WEEE Collection Centers

Within four weeks, the Romanian Recycling Association RoRec inaugurated five WEEE collection centers in Tulcea, Calarasi and Valenii de Munte that have recently been joined by Brad and Hunedoara.

For the correct disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment, the inhabitants of Brad and Hunedoara can use two new collection centers at European standards located at 6 Avram Iancu street (in the square) – Brad and Hunedoara Industrial Park, DJ- 687 no. 2.

Thus, the county of Hunedoara is the first one in the country to launch two WEEE collection centers and the opening event enjoyed the presence of local authorities, Prefect DÉZSI Attila, Mr. Marin Butar, Councilor to the Chairman of the Hunedoara County Council and local councilors from Brad and Hunedoara.
“We now conclude an intense journey, with five openings of WEEE Collection Centers in just four weeks. Looking at the local authorities’ feedback, the openness and interest of the citizens from the communities where we have already launched these first five centers, we can say for sure that other collaborations, at least equally enthusiastic, will follow.”, stated Mr. Liviu Popeneciu, President of the Romanian Recycling Association RoRec.

We are honored to be among the first centers opened in the National RoRec Network. We invite all inhabitants of Hunedoara to get involved and bring the old appliances to the recently opened center, because such an insignificant gesture has a major impact on the state of the environment.”, added Mr. Ovidiu Marius Hada, Mayor of Hunedoara Municipality.

Having such a place, equipped at European standards, was one of our priorities for this year. We are glad that we were able to implement this project with the RoRec Association so as to give citizens a simple solution for WEEE collection – it is a successful partnership meant to help protect the environment in our municipality and an answer to the inhabitants’ requests for having a WEEE collection service”, added Mr. Florin Cazacu, Mayor of Brad.

The WEEE Collection Centers from Brad and Hunedoara provide services both to the population and to companies and institutions via an "Infoline" desk open Monday through Friday, between 09:00 a.m. and 06:00 p.m. and Saturday between 09:00 a.m. and 04:00 p.m. at phone number 0749 144 740 (Brad) and 0763 070 461 (Hunedoara), respectively. Companies and institutions can also request the free pick-up of old equipment for scrapping, by calling the previously mentioned infoline numbers.

The reception of the old or defective equipment is done directly at the center located at 6 Avram Iancu street (Brad) and Hunedoara Industrial Park, DJ-687, no. 2 (Hunedoara), every Saturday between 09:00 a.m. and 01:00 p.m., while heavy or large appliances can be picked up from home, for free, following a request made by calling 0749 144 740 (Brad) and 0763 070 461 (Hunedoara).
