We resumed the collection events throughout the country this year as well, in order to provide as many people as possible with a solution for disposing of old or broken electrical and electronic equipment. We conducted 124 specific WEEE events in over 300 localities from Romania starting February until the end of June, enjoying the support of local authorities and RoRec partners.
“Once again we want to thank local authorities for their support during this campaign. The help provided by over 1,400 volunteers is also crucial for the success of our events and we are glad to see an increasing number of students involved in environmental protection.”, stated Iuliana Niculescu, project manager.
“Over five million people had the opportunity to dispose responsibly of electrical waste in the first half of this year, thanks to our collection events,” – the project manager continued – “as well as to participate at the raffles organized at each event with the support of RoRec Association members”.
The 126 collection events conducted so far under the “Waste doesn’t belong at home. Take it for a hike!” campaign enjoyed the support of local authorities and the following 11 partners: Albatros, Arctic, Candy, Carrefour, Electrolux, Gorenje, Philips, Platinium, Skil, Waldmessner and Whirpool.
