120 events during the "œWaste doesn"™t belong at home, take it for a hike!" national campaign

The Romanian Recycling Association RoRec has conducted, since mid-March, 120 activities of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) collection nationwide, in partnership with townhalls.

539,519 kilograms of WEEE were collected from the almost 30,000 people that have participated in the campaign to date and were already sent for recycling in accordance with the European environmental standards.
Alba, Bacau, Bihor, Bistrita Nasaud, Botosani, Braila, Buzau, Brasov, Calarasi, Caras Severin, Constanta, Dambovita, Dolj, Galati, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomita, Iasi, Ilfov, Maramures, Mehedinti, Mures, Neamt, Prahova, Salaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timis, Tulcea, Valcea, Vaslui and Vrancea are the 35 counties that the “Waste doesn’t belong at home. Take it for a hike!” campaign has reached, as an initiative of the RoRec Association conducted in partnership with the local authorities.
 
During this period of time, over 2,200 volunteers got involved in the waste household appliances and electronic equipment collection activities conducted by the Romanian Recycling Association RoRec.
“I want to thank our partners, volunteers, teachers and teams involved in the making of these events. Their input is crucial for the success of our activities intended to inform and raise the awareness of the public on the selective collection of waste household appliances and electrical equipment and confirms the fact that the citizens and the local authority need coherent WEEE collection systems”, stated Mr. Liviu Popeneciu, President of the RoRec Association.
 
The following 16 events, scheduled until the beginning of September, will take place in the counties of Alba, Bacau, Braila, Brasov, Bihor, Buzau, Covasna, Dolj, Ialomita, Mures, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava and Vaslui. Follow us to find out more details about the project!
