RoRec Association and the Recycling Patrol, in Facebrands top
Facebrands, the service for monitoring the facebook accounts in Romania, included the two accounts of Rorec Association into its top.
From 662 pages registered at the Non-profit category, www.facebook.com/AsociatiaRoRec is on the 18th place!
The Education category counts 1476 pages, out of which www.facebook.com/Patruladereciclare stands on the 42th place!
The first WEEELABEX audit training
WEEE Forum organized in Romania the first European training program for the audit of the new WEEELABEX standards set up for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. The RoRec team took part in this training alongside the representatives of other compliance schemes in Europe.
At this workshop in March 2012, 29 experts were trained how to conduct an audit of recycling plants, from the entrance into the plant, personnel interviews, sample taking to the assessment of all processes.
Recycling Patrol
The Recycling Patrol is the largest national program of environmental education developed in schools!
Performances from the start of the program in 2011:
- We formed a national team of over 90,000 students and 3,000 teachers;
- We helped collect over 2.5 million kg of WEEE in Romania;
- We received the High Patronage of HRH Princess Maria of Romania;
- We won the First Prize in the "Programs" Section of the Civil Society Gala 2015;
- We launched (W)DEEECollect, the first e-waste collection application that supports environmental education in Romania;
- We won more than 40,000 fans on our Facebook page;
- We informed over 4,000,000 Romanians and encouraged them to collect WEEE;
- We organized hundreds of information campaigns in schools and communities.
Infomediu Europe Gala
As a recognition of its entire activity and successful projects, the Romanian Recycling Association was awarded the Grand Prize of the Infomediu Europe Magazine Gala in 2012.
Webstock Utility
The website www.rorec.ro, with the interactive map of the National Collection Network, was nominated for Webstock 2014, the largest social media conference in Romania, in the ”Utility”.
